frankly, state dropdown menus are just criminal. it’s not like there’s an infinite number of (US) states to check against! I see one and generally think: “lazy programmer.” (um, there may be some on my work site…I’m going to change them eventually.)

interesting, to me, is the extra bit of structure around the girl geek dinners: men can only attend if they are invited, and brought, by a woman. basically, ensures that there’s always at least a 50-50 balance.
